Privacy policy

This policy explains what information BestGames.cc ("BestGames", "we") collects when you use the site, why, and what you can do about it. BestGames is run by Adrian Aymont in Canada, who is responsible for how personal information is handled here. Contact: hello@bestgames.cc.

Playing without an account

You can play every game without signing up. We don't create a profile for guests. Your browser keeps these items locally (in localStorage), and they are never sent to us unless you sign in:

• Your favourite games (up to 100) and recently played games (up to 50).
• A note that this browser has signed in before, so the site knows whether to check your account.

You can clear them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in is optional and only possible with Google. We never see or store your Google password. From Google we receive and store:

• Your name, email address, profile picture link, whether Google has verified the email, and your Google account ID.

Your name and email are never shown to other people. You get a generated username instead, which you can change. We also store:

• Profile: your username and chosen avatar.
• Favourites: games you've saved and when.
• Activity: which games you pressed Play on while signed in, when, how often, and the UTC dates you played. This records clicks on our site only; we can't see what you do inside a game.
• Imported history: games played in this browser before you signed in, labelled as such.
• Badges you've earned and when.
• Sessions: for each signed-in device, a session record with its expiry time, the IP address and browser details it was created from, and a cookie (below). This keeps you signed in and helps protect your account.

We use this information only to provide these features: saving favourites and history across your devices, usernames, badges and keeping your account secure. We don't sell it, and we don't use it for advertising.

Cookies

These are strictly necessary for signing in. We don't set advertising or analytics cookies ourselves.

Games and other services we use

• Games are provided by Playgama and load in a frame from playgama.com. Playgama may show ads inside games and set its own cookies or collect information under its own privacy policy, which you can find on playgama.com. We don't receive information about what you do inside games.
• Google handles sign-in. See the Google Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare hosts the site and our database, and protects it from abuse. Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and secure the site. If we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, it counts visits without cookies or cross-site tracking. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Where your information is stored

Account information is stored in a Cloudflare database located in North America. Cloudflare and Google may process information in other countries, including the United States, where it may be accessible to local authorities under those countries' laws. We only use providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Canadian privacy law.

How long we keep it

• Account information is kept until you delete your account.
• Sessions expire after 30 days without use, or when you sign out.
• When you delete your account, everything listed above is deleted immediately. Copies may remain in our database backups for up to 30 days before they are overwritten.

Your choices and rights

• Delete your account at any time from your profile page.
• Change your username or avatar on the same page.
• To ask for a copy of your information, a correction, or anything else about your data, emailhello@bestgames.cc. We'll reply within 30 days.
• If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the data protection authority where you live. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights.

Children

BestGames is a general-audience site and isn't directed at children. Accounts are not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age for consent to online services where you live). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update this page and its effective date. For significant changes we'll show a notice on the site.
